Flower essences are dilute, vibrational liquid preparations made by infusing flowers in spring water, and typically energised in the sun and preserved using alcohol (although many producers now use non alcohol preservatives) . They are usually taken as drops under the tongue.
Unlike essential oils or herbal tinctures, flower essences contain no physical matter. They are based on the concept that the unique energetic imprint, or life force, of a plant is transferred as a memory into water. This energised water is then diluted down to a level that aligns with our own energy so that we can respond to it accordingly. If an essence doesn’t match your specific needs, it is generally considered harmless and inert.
Originally known as flower remedies and developed as a system of emotional rebalancing by Dr Edward Bach in the 1930’s there are now many essence producers worldwide that make essences from flowers, crystals, the environment and channelled energies. You can find out about many of these producers here.
As essences work an an energetic level rather than a physical they are safe to use
alongside medication, herbal medicine or supplements. Essences are used primarily to rebalance negative emotional states and work on an emotional and spiritual level rather than physical one.
As an organisation we also have producers who make essences from crystals and energies of place, animals and stars – please contact them individually about these.
